Tinos has now become one of the most popular Greek islands, and one reason for this is its stunning beaches. Here are the best ones worth visiting on your next trip to this Cycladic island.

From the family-friendly Agios Romanos to the wild beauty of Livada, these top beaches offer a mix of azure-green waters, lovely shores, and a broad range of amenities.

Kolympithres

Megali Kolympithra is a favorite among surfers. Mikri Kolympithra, with its sandy beach and inviting waters, is ideal for families. It offers umbrellas, sun loungers, and tavernas.

Agios Fokas

This has evolved into the most glamorous and bustling beach of Tinos, situated right next to the Chora. There’s a lineup of beach bars and restaurants, hotels, villas, and rental homes – you’ll find it all here. It’s perfect for an afternoon stroll and is well-protected when the meltemi winds whip up sandstorms on other beaches. Vrekastro, an imposing structure, stands on its eastern edge.

Balos

A charming sandy bay, 6 km from the Chora. Here, you’ll find the Bianco Beach House Restaurant, decorated in a minimal-boho style.

Kionia

A long sandy beach 3 km northwest of the Chora, the beach extends from the small beach of Stavros with its chapel all the way to Tinos Beach. It has beach bars in some spots and is protected from strong winds, which makes it popular during the meltemi winds. The area is filled with tavernas, many hotels and rental apartments.

Agios Sostis – Laouti (Skilandari) – Agia Kyriaki and Agios Ioannis Porto

This is the largest and most beautiful coastline of the island, relatively close to the city. Its drawback is that it’s exposed to the meltemi winds. It has wonderful waters, sand and pebbles, and is organized in parts with beach bars. At its western edge, the small church of Agios Sostis and Cavos, resembling a miniature village of Tinos, stands out. There are many hotels in the area, as well as tavernas, mini markets, etc. In a separate cove behind Agia Kyriaki (to the east) lies Agios Ioannis Porto with its shallow waters and the homonymous small church.

Pachia Ammos

A bay with turquoise-green waters, sandy dunes, and sculpted rocks. If it weren’t for the many boats and jet skis, this magnificent sandy beach might have resembled its old, tranquil self. Note that it is exposed to the meltemi winds, which can kick up sandstorms.

Agios Romanos

A popular family beach in a sandy bay with azure-green waters. A large part of it is organized with a beach bar-restaurant.

Santa Margarita

A picturesque sandy beach on the eastern coast of the island. It’s large and protected from the winds.

Livada

The most impressive and wild beach of Tinos, often surfable due to its exposure to the north winds. Its granite rocks are reminiscent of those at Volax. The scenic trail that starts at Falatados (M3) ends here. A restaurant operates in the area. Near the beach, you’ll find the striking Livada Lighthouse.

Isternia

Below Isternia village, 13 km from Tinos town, you’ll find this serene bay, with both sandy and pebbly areas, clear waters, and sunset views. It’s a good spot during strong northern winds, and a trail connects it to the village above. There are nearby accommodations, the famous Thalassaki restaurant and a café.

Rohari

Just a stone’s throw south of Panormos beach, Rohari offers a blend of sandy shores and boho-chic vibes. Despite the island’s brisk northern winds, this spot, 27 km from Tinos town, draws visitors with its lively beach bar and an array of live events.

Agios Ioannis Porto

Around 7 km southeast of Tinos, it attracts visitors with its turquoise waters, soft sandy beach, and verdant surroundings. The beach is also a bustling hotspot for those who like to see and be seen because of its trendy beach bars, quaint tavernas and luxury hotels.
