Broadening the Andronis group’s vision of Santorini, this year’s version of the Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar is a new bohemian-style space with an impressive brand-new Grande Pool, measuring 1,115 m2. Dips can be combined with drinks and cocktails for a superb casual dining-and-drinking experience, Oia’s world-famous sunset serving as the backdrop.
A select cast of guest artists booked for performances at the Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar, alongside the new Grande Pool – positioned to offer a magnificent view of the sea’s endless blue – promises rich entertainment, through mid-September.
The series of performances was just launched by Grammy-nominated act Pambouk, who has passed on the baton to Russian duo Volen Sentir, performing Friday, July 8. Having built up a reputation on the strength of deep-house DJ sets, the pair nowadays performs live with a full band – drums, keyboards, flute, and ethnic-flavoured female vocals.
Virtuoso clarinetist Thanasis Vasilopoulos will perform a special show at the Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar on Wednesday, July 13, combining traditional melodies with deep house rhythms, his artistic objective being to bridge East and West as an atmospheric soundtrack for the Oia sunset. Joining Vasilopoulos will be celebrated Spanish DJ Nacho Sotomayor, three musicians, as well Greek DJ Spyros Metaxas. The same group of artists will also perform two further shows at this venue, on Sunday, August 21 and Sunday, September 11.
Following Vasilopoulos and co’s first show, Duo Violins, comprising Dimitris Isaris and Giorgos Gaitanos, composers, producers and dexterous violinists, will perform Wednesday, July 20, returning to the Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar following a performance in June. Their show is multifaceted, moving from the world of classical music to favourite rock numbers and pop hits. The duo’s covers are truly uplifting. Duo Violins have also been booked for two further shows at the Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar on Wednesday, August 10 and Wednesday, September 7.
On Tuesday, June 26, Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar’s regulars will be treated to a performance by Jimmy Sax, alongside the impressive pool. The French saxophonist, a restless artist performing all over the world, has already played two shows in Oia. The act offers dynamic saxophone-led sets in electro, (freestyle) house and deep funk style.
A very special set is being prepared for Greek summer’s August 15 peak, a public holiday filled with celebrations. The Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar will host Corfu-based DJ Valeron, nowadays regarded as one of Mykonos’ leading DJs. He features at the island’s most cosmopolitan spots every summer. For his August 15 gig at the Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar, DJ Valeron is preparing a very special set, joined by a full band, to add depth and particular touches to his deep house rhythms. DJ Valeron will also return to the Pacman Sunset Restaurant-Bar for a second set on Wednesday, September 14.
