Water sports

Mykonos is one of the best areas for diving in the Cyclades. There are several famous shipwrecks, such as the ‘Peloponnisos’ which sank in 1930 breaking into two parts at a depth of 20-45m, and the ‘Anna II ‘ which sank in 1995. Organised diving centres with their own boats operate out of Kalafati, Ornos, Paradise, Platis Gialos, and Psarou, catering to all levels.

All of the organised beaches along the south coast have water sport operators offering jet skis, inflatables, SUP’s, and water skiing. Windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts take advantage of the plentiful summer winds at Kalafati or head north to Panormos and Ftelia. Small self-drive boats, yachts, and catamarans to visit the beaches and surrounding isles are available, while there are plentiful organised tours and cruises around the island, and further to Santorini and the Dodecanese.
