With an abundance of beaches surrounding the entire island, having your Avis rental car allows you to leisurely explore and appreciate the stunning coastlines at your own pace.

Saliara Beach, located on the northern side of Thasos

Saliara Beach is approximately seven kilometers away from the island’s capital, Limenas, on the northern part of the island. With its emerald waters, Saliara Beach is ideal for those seeking moments of relaxation in an organized refuge of the northern Aegean.

The shore is covered with small, white pebbles that are thin and not tiring for your feet. The contrast between the white of the beach and the turquoise of the sea is heavenly. You can reach the beach by taking one of the tourist boats that depart daily from Thasos’ Limenas, or alternatively, you can follow the rugged dirt road connecting Marcyamos with Saliara, Vathy, and Vathi, two other beautiful and popular beaches on the island. Of course, you will find beach bars and restaurants, as well as sunbeds and umbrellas for rent.

Vathy

One of the most famous beaches of Thassos is Vathy, just 8 kilometers away from Limenas. All visitors who arrive on the island make at least one stop here because of its stunning location and the soft, beautiful sand covering the entire coast and extending into the seabed. To reach Vathy, you will follow the same road that passes through Saliara.

The lush, tall pines wrap the beach from all sides, and at one point, they descend to the water. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available for rent, and you can also reach the beach by boat, which runs daily to the island’s beaches.

Pachys

A stunning, expansive coastline adorned with warm, soft sand near the Skala Rachoniou area, just 8 kilometers away from Limenas. Pachys beach is brimming with energy, boasting lively beach bars and delightful restaurants. It’s an ideal spot to spend the entire day, whether you’re taking countless dips in the serene, emerald waters, having fun playing games on the beach with your kids, or simply basking in the enchanting sunset—one of the most romantic you’ll find on the island. No sun umbrella, no worry. The surrounding pine trees cast a dense, refreshing shade to keep you safe from the hot mediteranean sun.

Pefkari

Very close is Pefkari beach, next to Potós settlement in the south of the island. The beach gets its name from the large pine forest just above the coast and is ideal for families – the opposite of the neighboring Giola. At Pefkari, you can relax on the golden sand, rest on the comfortable sunbeds (the beach is organized), taste exquisite local flavors in nearby taverns, cool off in the transparent waters, and discover the exciting world of water sports. Rent the necessary equipment, ask for help from experienced instructors, and spend hours of joy and play on one of the most serene beaches of Thassos.

Limenas Beach

Limenas’ town Beach, located just 1.5 km from the port, offers a beautiful, sandy retreat perfect for relaxation. With l;ovely clear water, this medium-sized beach has a smooth sandy gradient in the waters, making it suitable for families with little children. During peak season, it can get crowded, but it’s convenient for those staying nearby. The beach is well-organized, with sunbeds and umbrellas available with an ordered drink or snack. Some beach bars offer toys for children, and there’s a small park nearby. As a bonus, Limenas City Beach features a lifeguard, showers, and changing cabins for your convenience.

Glykadi Beach

Glykadi Beach, situated 5 km from Limenas towards Skala Prinos, is a spacious sandy beach with unique stone plates in the water, followed by fine sand. Previously home to a beach bar, it now features a canteen where visitors can purchase drinks, food, and rent deck chairs and umbrellas. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with ample parking available at the back of the beach. Crystal-clear waters and a usually uncrowded shoreline make Glykadi Beach an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the sun and sea air.
