At this cozy spot in Chora, you’ll find a variety of local specialties, such as the island’s famous ‘fourtalia,’ omelet, a traditional dish with potatoes and a pungent local sausage. The menu includes classic Greek dishes like hand-rolled dolmades, meatballs, slow-cooked beef in a clay pot, and village-style salad topped with the island’s goat cheese. There’s also a broad selection of ouzo and tsipouro on offer. It is located in a quiet alley just off the main pedestrian Agora street.

Endochora

Endochora was among the first of the island’s restaurants to present a modern, fresh and creative take on traditional Andriot and Mediterranean cuisine. Try the colorful, multi-textured salads, the creamy risotto, local vegetable briam, a selection of various Andriot cheeses, the catch of the day, pearl barley with mushrooms, and the octopus. Finish your meal with a shot of mastiha liquer or locally-popular soumada, a drink made from almonds.

Run by an Italian couple, this place is one of the few on the island serving authentic Italian cuisine. Their pizza has a thin, crispy crust, many of their pastas are handmade, and the focaccia arrives warm and fluffy. Try the gnocchi or the handmade ravioli with cuttlefish ink, filled with fresh fish and served with pea puree and hazelnut crumbs. End with the homemade tiramisu.

A must-visit for meat lovers, this family-run restaurant is known for its top quality, expertly grilled meats, including lamb chops, pork steak, and burgers, along with charcoal-grilled lamb. The goat wrapped in parchment and the liver grilled in caul fat are also standout dishes. Rare for Andros, the restaurant uses a lot of its own locally sourced ingredients, ensuring freshness and home-grown quality. The quick and friendly service is another plus. Children especially will love the animals roaming around the grounds, including horses, deer, and ducks, with pony rides available in the afternoons.
