Platanos
Situated near the sea, under a huge plane tree in the square of the picturesque village, with views of the Castle, this restaurant combines traditional simplicity with high flavour. They serve classic appetisers and tasty cooked dishes made with meats from the family’s farm where they raise goats, pigs, and rabbits. Try the lamb and pork in oil, rabbit stew, and red-wine rooster with garden vegetables, and don’t miss the amazing meat pie. For dessert, try the traditional sweets.

I Kalyva Tou Psara
This traditional fish restaurant is the owner’s residence since 1920 and a taverna since 1978. They serve fresh grilled fish (marinated beforehand) and good fried dishes (the red mullet is excellent) accompanied by salad or greens and French fries. Kakavia fish soup is available upon request (it needs to be made in advance).

A family-run tavern operating for 40 years and serving well-prepared local dishes made mostly from their own meats – rabbit stew, wonderful Kefalonian meat pie, tsigaridia, and a hearty fish stew – in a cosy courtyard. Also worth trying are the many classic Greek dishes (moussaka, leek pie) and appetizers.
