The Apollo Resort perfectly balances elegant and simple architectural design, nestled between a dense pine forest and the expansive blue horizon. Located along the shoreline of a lush bay in Agia Marina, it offers direct access to the sea and exudes a charming 60s vibe. The aesthetically pleasing rooms boast unlimited views of the Saronic Gulf. While it is pricier than other options, it’s worth every penny and remains a bargain compared to the rest of the Aegean.

In the 1960s, renowned Greek painter Nikos Nikolaou attracted many creatives to the island with legendary dinners at his seaside home. His nephew, architect Theodore Zoumboulakis, later transformed this cherished home into a guesthouse. The five studios, surrounded by pistachio, fig, and pomegranate trees, feature Nikolaou’s artwork, antiques, bespoke furnishings, and designer pieces from the family’s Athens shop. A nearby path leads to the sea.

Built on an old pistachio farm, Rastoni captures a core part of Aegina’s identity as a producer of delightful green nuts. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, it’s a 10-15 minute walk to Aegina Town, the main hub for shops, restaurants, and cafes. The hotel is also near a beach and the Kolona archaeological site. Surrounded by pistachio trees, the garden provides shade over loungers, dining tables, and waterfalls. The 14 colonial-style rooms feature neutral tones, dark wooden furniture, and local artwork. Some rooms have sea-view balconies, perfect for watching sunsets. A breakfast buffet with Greek specialties is served daily.
