In line with Black Friday, the day of major deals around the world, the hospitality sector is hoping to add colour to the previously “dark” travel landscape.
In this context, hotels of all categories and accommodation establishments throughout Greece offer their guests stays and other services at favourable prices.
In fact, there are many hotels that, through online platforms such as Booking.com, are extending their offers, including discounts for bookings before 1 December and for stays before 1 July 2022. In many cases, prices per night are subject to discounts of up to 30%, in the majority of cases with no deposit required and a free cancellation policy, creating a sense of security.
In Athens, more than 70 accommodation establishments are participating in the Black Friday festive atmosphere, with offers starting from €38 per night.
For example, at St George Lycabettus Hotel the price per night is now €94, down from €139 originally, at Wyndham Grand Athens the price per night including breakfast is €134 from €190 originally, while at Ergon House Hotel the offer is €173 including breakfast, down from €246 originally.
In Thessaloniki, among the hotels offering Black Friday deals are Onoma Hotel (€112 per night, down from the original €158), Lazart Hotel (€99 per night, down from €139), Grand Hotel Palace (€113 per night, down from €159) and The Modernist Thessaloniki (€116 per night, down from €165 originally).
In Ηania, too, Elia Bettolo Hotel offers accommodation from €86 per night, down from €122 originally, and La Maison Ottomane from €91, down from €130 originally.
On the other hand, on the island of Rhodes, Best Western Plus Hotel Plaza celebrates Black Friday with a price of €59 per night, down from €83, while 10GR Hotel & Wine Bar Rhodes offers accommodation at €96 per night, down from the original price of €160.
Thanks to Black Friday, travellers visiting Santorini, Rethymno, Heraklion and other areas of Greece will also find such festive offers.
It should be noted that the Ioannina Hotels Association is making an organized effort to stimulate tourist traffic and to satisfy the visitors who will choose the destination for their getaways. With the Black Friday & Weekend program, it offers discounts of up to 60% off the original hotel rates. Specifically, from Friday 26 November to Sunday 28 November, Black Friday & Weekend will take place with offers of up to 60% on accommodation, food and drinks, outdoor activities and spa at participating hotels.
According to the Association, these dates are ideal for those who want to escape in November, as they share the distance between 28 October and Christmas, when many people traditionally choose to travel.
Therefore, travellers and residents of the region who will take advantage of the ideal conditions will have the opportunity to spend a three-day stay in the mountainous destinations of the region or in cosmopolitan Ioannina at favourable prices, but also to do their shopping in the local market. Among others, the city of Ioannina, Konitsa, Zagori, Metsovo and Tzoumerka participate in the programme.
At the same time, Airbnb properties across Greece are also in Black Friday fever, with owners offering lower prices on the respective dates for stays that will take place until July 1. For instance, an entire apartment with a terrace in the historic centre of Athens is offered at €83 per night, down from €125 initially.
What is more, subscription platforms such as TrustedHousesitters, which offers free accommodation in exchange for caring for small pets and properties around the world, is offering a 25% discount on new annual subscriptions until 27 November.
