The Greek Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, announced the new measures that will come into force from tomorrow, Thursday 30 December, in an effort to contain the coronavirus pandemic, while the number of infections in Greece and across Europe is rising due to the emergence of the Omicron variant.
As announced by the Minister:
All entertainment venues and catering establishments must close at midnight, have no standing customers and allow a maximum of six people per table.
Especially for New Year’s Eve, restaurants and entertainment venues will close at 2 am. However, in any case, from tomorrow, music is prohibited in all such venues.
The Minister added that the measures will be in place until mid-January and urged people to take a test before joining the family holiday table. He stressed that hiring of premises for parties during the festive season will be banned.
