Katerina Katopis, a leading figure in the field of hospitality consulting, will be a one of the esteemed speakers at the major Travel.gr conference on Greece and Tourism on November 16 at the Lighthouse of the SNFCC. “With experience in developing and communicating brands and destinations, my goal is to explore the significance of social media in tourism development and related products,” Katopis tells Travel.gr.
Used to challenging people to think out of the box, Katopis will be raising some key questions related to how Greece ‘delivers’ to a global audience as a presence in terms of tourism. “What’s the impact of our country on social media? How are social media platforms evolving to be influential on a global scale? How will the potent ‘present’ of artificial intelligence shape their future? And of course, the importance of genuine and certified content creation. Authentic and quality content is crucial in content production. It’s what can propel a destination and strengthen its tourist identity,” says Katopis.
“I’m particularly pleased to participate in Greece Talks, as this conference uniquely offers a holistic approach to Greek tourism. The themes included cover the entirety of aspects related to its essence and further development. I’m also delighted that my co-speaker will be my good friend Jeremy Jauncey, founder of the world’s largest social networking platform for destinations/hotels, Beautiful Destinations. Together, we’ll discuss the unique world of social media and its impact on tourism.”
Katopis has served as the General Manager of the Greek Japanese Chamber of Commerce and as a consultant in Greece’s investment sector. Travel is her personal passion and simultaneously her professional canvas, leading her to journey through more than 110 countries. Nevertheless, her heart remains firmly in Greece and its stunning landscapes.
Katopis’ contribution to attracting renowned luxury residences in Greece is evident, notably in her collaborations with Amanzoe and One & Only Kea Island. Her latest endeavour involves supporting the innovative airline Cycladic, which connects the Greek islands. She remains devoted to her partnership with the Hellenic Olympic Committee, supporting young athletes and sharing her love for marathons, often alongside children with disabilities.
