After continuous suggestions, proposals and pressure from the members of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organisers, the mandatory distance of 1.5 metres between physically present participants was abolished.
In particular, as provided for in the relevant regulation published in the Government Gazette, the number of physically present conference attendees (only fully vaccinated or with proof of recovery within the last six months) is limited on the basis of the capacity of the meeting room to 80%, with appropriate seating to ensure maximum distance between participants. Unvaccinated participants may attend the conference online.
Commenting on the decision, the Association notes that “We managed to overcome an obstacle that hindered the restart of conferences and events. We will continue to promote the sector with intensive efforts and actions of empowerment and extroversion. Our goal is collective and structured action, as well as our cooperation with all stakeholders, for the promotion and development of conference and MICE tourism”.
