3 metro stations in Central Athens will close today, 17th November, in the Afternoon.
Megaro Mousikis closes 15.00
Evangelismos closes 16.30
Syntagma closes 16.30
These stations are due to open once the annual march (from the Polytechnic, round to Syntagma and on to the American Embassy where it concludes) ends
Added to this there will be a general ban on parking in the center of Athens, in areas around the Polytechnic, Exarchea, Syntagma, The Megaron Mousikis and The American Embassy from early in the morning. Major arteries in the city center (Patission, Stadio, Vassilis Sofias Avenues) will closes as the march progresses.
This is the 49th year commemorating the Polytechnic Uprising a mass student uprising against the Greek Military Junta on this day in 1973.
