The founder of the interior design studio Studio Bonarchi will be one of the top speakers at Greece Talks, Travel.gr’s first major conference on Greece and Tourism, set for November 16th at the SNFCC Lighthouse. Studio Bonarchi, synonymous with innovation and personal aesthetics, crafts spaces that captivate with intricate textures and harmonious compositions, all the while respecting local architecture.
Ahead of his appearance at Greece Talks, Bonios says: “I’m struck by the diversity of the voices that will be joining together. Seeing the importance and array of speakers at Greece Talks, and the buzz it seems to be generating, and how the Greek Tourism sector unites us all, is exciting. Greece Talks will be a melting pot of ideas and thoughts, at a time when we all need to individually and collectively respond to the demands and challenges in the tourism world.”
Regarding his upcoming participation in the conference, Bonios states, “The main focus of my talk is on how to express and capture Greek identity via interior design, particularly when designing hotels. Using three examples from Studio Bonarchi’s portfolio, I’ll try to explain how Greek elements can inspire, form the foundation of, and materialise in the study of interior spaces, making future hotels strong, self-sufficient, and competitive on the global stage. The idea of a ‘Greek soul with an international outlook’ dominates my vision, and I want to share this with my fellow Greece Talks attendees, to consider how to realise the unique potential of this equation we’re tasked with solving.”
Vangelis Bonios holds a postgraduate degree in interior design under the tutelage of Patricia Viel. He honed his creative vision and aesthetic sense through leading architectural projects, including the Bulgari hotels. His tenure as the head designer at ‘Zege Architects’ is marked by the creation of iconic hotel spaces like ‘The Met Hotel‘ and the ‘Astir Palace Resort‘.
Studio Bonarchi has also received significant public attention for the design of two restaurants in the Athenian Riviera. Later, Bonios’ venture in ‘Kalesma‘ in Mykonos was recognized for its sophisticated luxury and material mastery, winning the award for the best suite worldwide at the AHEAD awards in 2022.
