A fire broke out on Monday evening, July 4, in Kranidi, Argolida. The fire quickly grew in size and threatened the area’s luxury hotel complex, the Amanzoe, which suffered property damage. The fire started in the northern part and due to strong winds quickly spread to the hotel.

The fire brigade was called immediately and the evacuation operation was carried out efficiently. The hotel occupants were immediately evacuated, took shelter on the beach and from there were transferred by sea to other hotels. No casualties were reported.

According to the fire department, as of Tuesday morning, July 5, the fire is in remission. The first assessment of the material damage caused by the fire is expected to be made on the same day.

According to the Fire Risk Forecast Map, issued by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, on Tuesday 05 July 2022, a very high fire risk is predicted in:

The 2nd stage of operational readiness of the Civil Protection Service remains in force and aerial surveillance patrols will continue, as well as patrols by Fire, Police and Army forces.
