Lampsa Hellenic Hotels SA is the highest bidder in EFKA’s tender for the lease of a building in the heart of Athens, at 7-9 Zalokosta Street, intended to operate as a hotel, with a monthly rent of €34,500.
It is a listed building constructed in 1939, with a total area of 1,854sqm. The property has been constructed in a rectangular layout and includes 2 basements, ground floor and 5 floors. It should be noted that the minimum monthly rent in the tender was set at €17,000, while the minimum investment requested was €1.2 million.
The term of the lease agreement will start from the date of delivery of the property from EFKA to the lessee and will expire on the respective date after 30 years with the right to extend it by 10 years by mutual agreement of both parties, provided that a written agreement has been made at least 2 years before its expiry.
Lampsa SA, the most historic hotel company in Greece, owned by the A. Laskaridis family, is listed on the Stock Exchange since 1947 and is active in the tourism sector, owning the Great Britain Hotel and the King George Hotel in Athens, the Sheraton Hotel in Rhodes, the Hyatt Regency in Belgrade and the Mercure Excelsior in Belgrade. It also operates the Athens Capital Hotel – MGallery Collection, on Panepistimiou Street, under a long-term lease.
In fact, the new hotel, which will operate on Zalokosta Street, will be Lampsa’s fourth luxury hotel in the heart of Athens, after Great Britain, King George and Athens Capital Hotel – MGallery Collection.
The revival of – for many years- vacant iconic properties is part of the objectives of a more comprehensive programme of the Ministry of Labour and EFKA, which directly brings significant economic benefits for the Social Security Institutions and contributes to the creation of new jobs and the revitalisation of the historic centre of Athens.
