‘Take a chance’ on the stunning island of ‘Mamma Mia’ fame.
The island of Skopelos is part of the Northern Sporades group and sits in the western
Aegean. It was the setting for the feature film ‘Mamma Mia!’ (the fictional island of Summer).
It is wilder, artier and more laid-back than neighbouring Skiathos, and retains its charm, despite its new found fame. Picture-perfect beaches contrast with pine forests, olive groves, vineyards and orchards of plums and almonds. Impossibly inviting, Skopelos is a little piece of island heaven
Skopelos Town can be found on the sheltered south-east of the island along with a string of
beautiful sand and pebble beaches. In the North-west you can visit the beautiful village of Glossa and the port of Loutraki. The high jagged cliffs on this side of the island are exposed to the elements.
Mountains dominate the East and West of the island.
